Hand and Wrist procedures in Bethesda, MD

Every hand and wrist procedure we offer, grouped by the condition it treats. All are done in the office under ultrasound guidance.

Every plan starts with an exam and diagnostic ultrasound at your first visit, so the procedure matches what is actually causing your pain.

Other hand and wrist treatments

Non-procedure options we often combine with, or try before, a procedure.

Questions about hand and wrist procedures

Is ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release a surgery?
It is a minimally invasive procedure. The ligament is released through a very small incision under live ultrasound with local numbing, in the office, so there is no large scar and most people use the hand for light tasks soon after.
Should I try an injection before a release procedure?
Often, yes. A guided cortisone injection helps many people with trigger finger or milder carpal tunnel syndrome. When symptoms return or nerve testing shows more compression, a release is the next step.
Can PRP help thumb arthritis?
PRP may ease pain and improve grip for some people with arthritis at the base of the thumb. It does not rebuild cartilage and works best with splinting and hand strengthening.
