Questions about elbow procedures

How do you treat tennis elbow that has lasted for months?
Most tennis elbow improves with a progressive strengthening program. When pain lasts many months despite rehab, PRP or percutaneous tenotomy (Tenex) are office options that treat the damaged tendon directly.
Should I get a cortisone shot for tennis elbow?
Cortisone can ease pain for a short time, but tendon pain often returns. We usually favor rehab, shockwave, PRP, or Tenex for tendon problems and discuss the tradeoffs with you.
Do elbow procedures require surgery or general anesthesia?
No. Our elbow procedures are done in the office under local numbing, guided by ultrasound, and most people go home right away.
